In spite of 3 ½ years of volunteer efforts to get the government to enforce the law, all attempts to have the Trust restored and repatriated back to the community have failed.
Ontarians, from both within the Moore Park area and outside of it, have sent hundreds of postcards, letters and emails to the Premier, Dalton McGuinty. He has remained publicly silent on the issue. The Premier did not dignify a formal invitation to discuss the issue of governance, sent by registered mail from a group of representatives from ridings across Ontario, with a response.
Lobbyists for Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries, the Sussex Strategy Group, have successfully accessed: 1) the Office of the Premier and Cabinet Office; (2) the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and; 3) the Ministry of the Attorney General on behalf of Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries in regard to the issue of governance. This information is public and logged on the Ontario Integrity Website.
The citizens have been refused meetings by all of the above-mentioned Ministry Offices.
